THE AUTHOR
Dr. Klaus Schwanbeck is a graduate in sports science. After his career as a professional track & field coach he worked on developing nationwide health programs for 20 years.
As founder of the German Health Preventive Network and for the German Olympic Sports Confederation, he educated and licensed instructors for multiple sports, therapists and physicians in cooperation with different medical boards.

One would think that the title of this book is an exaggeration, but it isn’t. I read books and articles prior to this book, but this book has it all. Whether you’re a beginner (like me) or you’re really into competing or you just want a great physical outdoor workout, this is the only book that you will need.
You get everything “from soup to nuts”: the history, choosing all the equipment, the techniques of nordic walking, a weight loss program, encouragement about fighting diseases, a total exercise program, and ten(!) fitness programs. It’s very well written by a top track and field coach, an excellent educator, and a fitness pioneer.
Buy the book, then head out for a wonderful time; guaranteed.

I am a new user of Nordic Poles for my walking regime. I had rotary cuff surgery about five months ago, and feel that the use of the Nordic walking poles is good exercise for helping to strengthen my shoulder. Those who are even remotely interested in health and physical fitness – this is your book. It is easy to read, the both medical and physical explanations are superb. Nordic walking is soooo much better than walking without poles ~ I don’t know why this hasn’t caught on in the U.S. like it has in Europe!! I will NEVER walk for fitness without poles again! I am seriously considering giving free classes in our community center because it is so awesome. I would have given this product 5 stars, but the company that sent me the book, “books-fyi” sent me this product two weeks late and badly damaged! DO NOT use this company: BOOKS-FYI, choose someone else!
